If you believe you are entitled to compensation, you need to state the following in writing:
When claiming monetary compensation, you need to put a dollar figure on the losses you are claiming and evidence needs to be provided. For example, receipts and invoices, or medical evidence of an injury.
Each claim will be evaluated and determined on its individual merits, in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Commonwealth.
CSA has dedicated Compensation Officers who investigate all compensation matters thoroughly and make recommendations to the General Manager. These officers work independently of the day–to–day case management of CSA and liaise directly with you while your claim is under consideration. They will provide clear reasons for the final decision once made.
CSA aims to make a decision within six weeks of receiving your claim. Where this timeframe is unlikely to be met, the Compensation Officer will advise you of the new timeframe.
If you accept an offer of compensation, you will be required to sign a ‘deed of release’ which means that you agree that the matter is settled. You cannot take further action in relation to the claim once you have received compensation.
If you believe you have a genuine claim for compensation, contact CSA for more information.
