Is your child turning 18 and still at school?
If your child turns 18 while attending full-time secondary school, you can apply to extend the child support assessment or agreement until the last day of their school year.
In most cases, your child is considered to be in full-time secondary education until the official last day of school or their last exam. If your child is continuing secondary study after they turn 18, you need to apply to extend your child support assessment before they turn 18.
If you have a CSAonline account, you can now apply to extend your child support assessment using this secure online service. Go to the forms section and select Child over 18 in full-time secondary education.
To register for a CSAonline account and start managing your child support online refer to csaonline.gov.au.
We can also take your application over the phone. To apply, or for more information call us on 131 272*
Alternatively, you can mail or fax us your application. To do this, please use the Child over 18 in full-time secondary education form.
