Information Notes

What it means to end an assessment
When you end an assessment you are asking CSA to stop calculating how much child support the paying parent should pay you. You can still receive child support under a private arrangement or agreement. If your circumstances change, you can also reapply to CSA to calculate and collect child support.

Important note
If you receive Family Tax Benefit at more than the base rate you cannot end an assessment unless there are exceptional circumstances. Your request to end an assessment will be referred to Centrelink for approval and Centrelink will contact you to let you know whether your request has been accepted or not.

Your privacy

The information requested by CSA is needed for child support purposes and is required by child support law. We don't pass your personal information on to the other parent, except where this is required by law or necessary to make a decision that would affect the other parent.

Some information may be passed to Centrelink, the Australian Taxation Office or to a law enforcement agency. CSA may provide your contact details to people contracted by us to deliver services to separated parents, or carry out research to help improve our services.
