you can refer to the detailed information contained in CSA newsletters on
changes to child support and family assistance. You can view this information
here.
About this service
The new Child Support Scheme will begin on 1 July 2008. You can use this
estimator service to calculate an estimate of what your new child support and
family assistance payments might be after 1 July 2008 when these changes start.
Important information
-
You should not rely on an estimate as a guarantee for future income or payment.
-
The Child Support Agency will calculate your child support and send you a new
assessment of your child support payments using the new formula between March
and May 2008. This assessment will apply from 1 July 2008.
-
Your child support assessment may affect the amount of Family Assistance you
receive. The Family Assistance Office will write to you in July 2008 if your
rate is different because of these changes.
-
This estimator does not affect your current records in any way. If you would
like to discuss a change to your current payments or details please contact us.
-
If you do not know the other
parent's details, you won't be able to use this service. The Child
Support Agency and Family Assistance Office cannot provide the
other parent's
details to you.
-
The estimate will be based on the information you provide. If any information
is incorrect, the estimate will also be incorrect.
What can't I estimate?
This service does not cover every individual's situation. It does not:

-
estimate your current child support or family assistance
-
compare old and new estimates
-
estimate child support where you are not the parent of the child (e.g.
grandparents)
