One method CSA uses to collect child support payments is to ask employers to deduct these payments on behalf of the paying parent and forward these payments onto CSA.

CSA is committed to providing support to employers who are involved in the collection of child support. CSA will advise you if you are required to make deductions of child support on behalf of the paying parent.

In this section you can find information on:

Your role is to deduct child support from payments made to any paying parent who is an employee or sub-contractor of your organisation. The employer calculator can help you do this.

Deductions of child support can be made from:

  • salary or wages
  • commissions
  • bonuses or allowances
  • certain assessable retirement or termination payments
  • payments for labour under some contracts
  • other remuneration, e.g. company directors' fees
  • sub-contractor's payments.

Employers can also access a range of Separation Resources to help their employees find relevant, affordable and up-to-date information about family separation.
